TIPS FOR CONNECTING WITH MEMBERS<\/h3>\n

Here are some of Dr. Maxwell\u2019s connecting principles and practices<\/h4>\n
    \n
  • Connecting is a skill that can be learned. Strive to meet new members so you become better at connecting.<\/li>\n
  • Connecting starts with focusing on others. Remember your goal is to learn as much as about the other person as you can. By listening more than you talk, you will focus on the other person.<\/li>\n
  • Connect on common ground. Remember you are now a Line Officer and some will view you in a different light. Don\u2019t let your title go to your head. Stay on their level.<\/li>\n
  • Connecting in a positive manner will inspire others.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Here are some questions to use to begin connecting<\/h4>\n

    • Ask some questions about their background<\/b>\n
        \n
      • Where did you grow up?<\/li>\n
      • Tell me about your family.<\/li>\n
      • What do, or did, for a living?<\/li>\n
      • How did you choose that line of employment?<\/li>\n
      • What are some of your hobbies?<\/li>\n
      • How did you get involved in Masonry and in ERAC?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
      • Ask questions about what they value<\/b>\n

        • What are some great accomplishments in your life?<\/li>\n
        • Who has had the greatest influence in your life?<\/li>\n
        • What type of things inspire you?<\/li>\n
        • Do you have an unfulfilled dream?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

          Here are some questions to ask them about your Lodge<\/h4>\n

          • What are some of the strengths of our Lodge?<\/li>\n
          • What are some of the areas in which we need to improve?<\/li>\n
          • What are some things we need to accomplish in the next 5 years?<\/li>\n
          • Do you have any ideas on how to accomplish these things?<\/li>\n
          • Who are some Members who have skills that will help our Lodge?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
